Vårt promenadförslag

Our walk starts at Centralstationen (yellow circle) and goes all the way to Lilla Essingen (blue circle). When you are standing with the Central Station behind your back you turn right and walk towards the water.

The walk takes about 1½ hours, but you will sure want to spend more time in making nice stops during the walk.

Ideas for the walk in Norrmälarstrand

We want you to discover your own favourites, but we want to give you some ideas about the walk - things that we appreciate a lot.

At the beginning of your walk you will pass Stadshuset, the City Hall. From this place it is possible to make pleasant excursions by boat, why not return here one day and go to Drottningholm or Mariefred?

The City Hall opened in 1923 and is considered a treasure in terms of artistic quality. The nice City Hall Garden is a peaceful oasis with beautiful flowers and sculptures. In addition, it offers a fantastic view over the water.

The walk continues further along the water and takes you to Mariebergsbron and Lilla Essingen.

Earlier there were several large industries on the island of Lilla Essingen, including Lux (vacuum cleaners). Recently the industries have been replaced by a modern residential area which is called Essinge Udde.

It is possible to walk around more or less the entire island of Little Essingen, the walk offers fantastic views.

When you have walked around the island and return to Mariebergsbron, our walk ends. From here you can take bus number 1 back to the central part of Stockholm.

Maybe you are hungry after your walk, why not have a meal at the restaurant "Rosa Drömmar" next to the bridge.
